The individual must be currently enrolled in USA Rugby's Membership Program (CIPP) and have personal insurance. Each individual player must sign a Waiver and Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk Form ("Waiver and Release")
Due to its international popularity, 7s rugby was voted into the Summer Olympics Games for 2016 and 2020. In 7’s, seven a side teams compete in seven minute halves and each team is allowed three substitutions. The 7s players must be both mentally and physically disciplined. Since 7s is played on the same sized field as 15’s, there is more room to run. This results in a fast paced match that allows for high scoring games. The 7s athlete must train and develop different skills than a 15s player and be able to make the right decisions under pressure.
Special Thanks to Bjorn Haglid, The University of Delaware, The University of Delaware Men’s Rugby Football Club, RUGBY PA High School Boys Select and Stephen Siano of 4x3, LLC. And a special thanks to Salty Thompson the USA Rugby High School All-Americans Coach.
